These film collages utilize found materials which have been removed from their already existing contexts (photo albums, journals, magazines, catalogues) and assembled into something new. By being cut out, that which is separated out gains movement and permits the consideration of new areas of action and activity. The separating out, isolating and assembling of perplexing disparates, as indeed the mixing of cinematic practices, reveal prevalent perspectives, with these becoming liquid. And ultimately, they encode anew the private and collective visual memory. With the fun in being subversive, twisting things around, reading from the outside in and being ironic at the heart of it all.
